A New PTA Library Tradition — Launching 2026

Beginning in 2026, the Greenacres PTA is proud to partner with the Greenacres School Library and Bronx River Books to launch our Celebration Books Program—a meaningful way to honor students while enriching our school library.

What Are Celebration Books? 📚

Celebration Books allow families to commemorate a child’s birthday or special milestone by donating a brand-new book to the Greenacres Library.

Each donated book:

  • Becomes part of the permanent library collection

  • Includes a personalized bookplate recognizing the student

  • Is enjoyed by classmates for years to come

It’s a gift that celebrates one child while benefiting the entire school community.

How It Works

  • $20 donation per book

  • Families select a title from the library’s curated wish list

  • The PTA purchases the book through Bronx River Books, supporting our local bookstore

  • Books are delivered directly to the Greenacres Library

  • Each month’s Celebration Books are displayed, and students get first priority to check out their own book

Important Details

  • Celebration Books may be purchased in advance for any month

  • Limit one Celebration Book per student, per school year

Ordering Deadlines

 

Celebration Books must be ordered by the 14th of the month before the celebration month.

 

For example:

  • February Celebration Book → order by January 14
  • March Celebration Book → order by February 14
  • January Celebration Book → order by December 14

This timeline allows the PTA to purchase books through Bronx River Books, prepare personalized bookplates, and coordinate delivery to the Greenacres Library in time for monthly displays.
